I believe that most folks are of good will and always welcome affirmations of this belief. Such an affirmation happened last week that I want to comment on.

I was driving in Lewiston on Lisbon Street and came upon a car stranded in the middle lane. I pulled up behind him to see if he needed help. His car wouldn’t start and, as we pondered the possibilities, we were suddenly surrounded by a group of guys saying they would help push the car off the street into a nearby parking lot, which they did.

Once there they wished the driver good luck and went back to their jobs at Sullivan Tire.

I thought, how great this is, practicing an act of random kindness.

It’s a good world after all!
