RUMFORD — Funeral services for Alvan D. Larsen of Dixfield were conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 29, at the Meader & Son Funeral Home, 3 Franklin St., Rumford, with the Rev. Dan Pearson officiating. Music selections included “It Is Well With My Soul” and “A Mighty Fortress is Our God.” Special music, “Amazing Grace” and “Lament for Sgt. McKenzie,” was presented by bagpiper Denise Hurd. Words of remembrance were presented by son, George Larsen, who also led the Lord’s Prayer, son, James Larsen who read a poem, and friend, Robert Haynes, who had personal reflections. Interment will be in the spring at the Farrington-Morton Cemetery, Mexico. A reception followed at the Rumford Baptist Church.
