FARMINGTON — Funeral services for Dorothy W. Bryant were held Wednesday morning, Dec. 4, at Henderson Memorial Baptist Church, Farmington, following an hour of visitation prior to the services.
The Rev. Dr. Susan Crane officiated. Daniel Woodward was the organist and soloists singing “In The Garden” as a duet were Gaynelle Yeaton and Brent Smith. Congregation hymns included “How Great Thou Art,” “Onward, Christian Soldiers” and “Amazing Grace.” Dorothy’s favorite scriptures, her “watchwords,” were shared as well as Matthew 5:3-12, The Beatitudes. The scripture reading was Habakkuk 3:17-19. The meditation was titled “The Lord Is My Strength.”
Following the prayer of committal and the benediction, all were invited to the church vestry to share in a comfort reception, hosted by the church hospitality committee. Pallbearers were her husband, William Bryant; grandson, William Davenport; family member, Everett Wright and James Roy. Winter entombment is at the funeral home. Spring inurnment will be at the family lot at Lakeview Cemetery, Wilton. Arrangements were in the care of the Wiles Remembrance Center: Cremation Service and Funeral Home, Farmington.
