NEW SHARON — An Athens woman was charged with drunken-driving and leaving the scene of an accident after police found her abandoned Jeep on Kimball Pond Road on Tuesday night.

Tina Meng, 45, was arrested at her boyfriend’s home on Kimball Pond Road and booked at the Franklin County jail in Farmington early Wednesday on charges of operating under the influence and leaving the scene of a property damage accident, Maine State Police Sgt. Mathew Casavant said Wednesday.

Trooper Jed Malcore found Meng’s 2009 Jeep Patriot at about 8:18 p.m. Tuesday and it appeared to have traveled about 150 feet in a ditch and struck a utility pole, Casavant said.

Casavant and his police dog tracked Meng to the house, he said.

“It was determined Meng was under the influence and she was arrested,” he said.

New Sharon Fire Department assisted at the scene. The vehicle was towed.

Meng was released from jail on $400 cash bail.
