1958 – 2013

LEWISTON — Linda Louise Shostak, 55, of Minot, passed away suddenly at Central Maine Medical Center on Thursday, Dec. 5, of complications from diabetes. She was surrounded by members of her family.

Born Linda Louise Hazelton on July 31, 1958, to Ralph and the late Annie Hazelton of Peru, Linda graduated from Rumford High School in 1976. She then attended Biscayne University in Florida, studying medical laboratory sciences. She was employed as a medical laboratory technician at C.M.M.C. for 35 years.

In 1984, she married Michael Shostak of Lewiston; they moved to Minot and raised two children.

Linda loved spending time with her family, gardening and hiking, arts and crafts, sewing her own clothes and working as a troop leader and service team member for the Girl Scouts. Linda will be remembered as a loving person who was always ready to volunteer.

Linda is survived by her husband of 29 years, Michael; her children, Jennifer of Farmington and Nicholas of Minot; her father, Ralph Hazelton, and sister, Cathy Hazelton-Hine, both of Peru; her brother, Sidney Hazelton of Auburn; and numerous nieces and nephews.
