Coach: Jake Gentle (second year)

Last year’s record: 5-13

Returning letter-winners: Seniors — Tucker Brannon (5-10 forward), Kendal Roy (5-6 guard), Jake Johnston (6-4 forward/center), Jake Bremmer (6-5 center); Juniors — Kyle Bourget (5-11 guard), Johnny Yim (5-11 guard).

Key loses: Brad Groh (forward), Nick Collins (forward), Mason Haley (guard), Kyle Sheehan (forward), Ryan Brewer (guard).

Promising newcomers: Juniors — Andrew Golino (6-1 forward), Joe Philbrick (5-9 forward), R.J. Sargent (5-7 guard), Darren Ward (6-0 forward); Sophomores — Austin Bedford (5-8 guard), Noah Carter (5-5 guard); Freshman — Josh Huston (6-0 forward/guard).

Outlook: After improving from one to five wins in Gentle’s first season, Lisbon knows it has more work to do to keep pace in an MVC loaded with veteran teams. Becoming more proficient at defense, rebounding and taking care of the basketball will help. The Greyhounds will also need the seniors to fill the leadership void left by graduation. Brannon was a second-team All-MVC selection as a junior. Building into a perennially competitive program will take some time, but the Greyhounds appear to be on the right track.
