BIDDEFORD — A man believed responsible for several recent robberies in Biddeford was found dead in his apartment early Friday morning, according to police.
Tyler Trottier, 27, suspected of committing seven robberies over the last week, was found by police with a gunshot wound to his head, according to Biddeford police Chief Roger Beaupre.
Beaupre said police believe the wound was self-inflicted.
The most recent robbery police suspect Trottier was responsible for occurred at May Mee’s restaurant on Thursday night, according to Beaupre.
After police located Trottier’s pick-up truck on King Street, Biddeford police attempted to contact him and a state police tactical team was brought in as backup, the police chief said.
When Trottier made no attempt at a peaceful exit, the tactical team entered the apartment and found him dead, Beaupre said. Weapons found in the residence matched the description of those used in Thursday’s robbery and others at Super Sub Shop on Nov. 28, Red Rocket on Nov. 30, Tim Horton’s and Yummy House on Sunday, Family Dollar on Monday and D’Angelo’s on Wednesday.
