1945 – 2013

AUBURN — Ann Bellegarde, 68, of Rumford, passed away Friday, Dec. 6, at the Hospice House.

She was born on April 11, 1945, a daughter of Philip and Rita Letourneau, and was brought up near the Swift River in Frye.

She raised three boys: Kevin, Scot and Keith, each a year apart, which provided many challenges and rewards throughout the years. Ann married Fern “Snooky” Bellegarde on Aug. 13, 1988, and welcomed two daughters, Gracie and Adeline, into her family circle.

Ann loved the outdoors; she spent hours cultivating flowers and vegetables at her home on Maple Street. She loved gold panning on the Swift River, and enjoyed her grandchildren and their neighborhood friends who all called her “Grammy Ann,” and who would come to take a dip in her swimming pool on many hot summer days.

Ann loved to shop for unique items, antiques and gifts. She loved a bargain; she enjoyed the challenge of negotiating a better price and was always proud of her finds. Ann loved to cook and everyone in the family had their favorites: Seafood stew at Christmas time and pigs in a blanket, or some kind of fancy dessert that was usually available for visitors.
