The Lewiston Winter Farmers’ Market Holiday Extravaganza will take place from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, at St. Mary’s Nutrition Center, 208 Bates St., Lewiston. Shop local and find unique and quality gifts for the whole family. Choose great stocking stuffers among “lump of coal” soap, body lotions and assorted herb teas. Shower loved one with sweet gift boxes of chocolate, jams and jellies. Decorate with Maine gathered wreathes and swags, Celtic Christmas ornaments or one-of-a-kind Asiatic lilies. Other great gift ideas include one-of-a-kind pottery items, jewelry, fiber art and needle felting kits, and handmade holiday cards. Holiday food offerings include fresh turkey, duck and goose, winter veggies, artisan cheese, bread and homemade desserts and pies. The market brings together 25 vendors selling Maine-grown and made products and meets the third Thursday of every month. Each market offers live music and a winter market cafe where customers can enjoy hearty soups, salads and bread. For more information, call 513-3848 or visit lewistonfarmersmarket.blogspot.com.
