1928 – 2013
AUBURN — Stella Marie Chaloux, 85, of Lewiston, died peacefully on Thursday, Dec. 12, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin with her loving family by her side.
She was born in Lisbon, on April 23, 1928, the daughter of the late William and Zoraide (Morency) Rioux and had been a resident of this community most of her life.
She was educated in Lewiston schools and was married to Marcel A. Chaloux Sr. on Dec. 31, 1951. She was employed at the Continental Mill for some time.
After joining her husband at the University of Maine in Orono for four years, she moved to Beverly, Mass. for nine years. She returned back to Lewiston in 1966 with her family of five children as a homemaker.
Stella enjoyed sewing, working in her flower gardens, cooking, baking, doing puzzles and enjoyed going for Sunday afternoon rides.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Marcel A. Chaloux Sr., of Lewiston; three daughters, Diane Chaloux of Auburn, Lorraine Fontaine of Lewiston and Louise Triggiani of Auburn; two sons, Marcel Chaloux Jr. and his wife, Joline, of Lisbon and Patrick Chaloux of Auburn; 12 grandchildren, Patrick Fontaine, Elizabeth Elliott, Jennifer Lubliner, Alex Chaloux, Christine LaVerdiere, Jacob and Nathan Chaloux, Ashley Fitts, Patrick Cass, Jenna Pulkka, Joseph and David Triggiani; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Daniel Rioux and his wife, Rita, of Lewiston and Normand Rioux and his wife, Lucina, of Windham; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; and brothers and sisters, Antonio Rioux, Rita Lemelin, Bibiane Langlois, Gerard Rioux, Benoit Rioux, Jean-Marie Rioux, Bernadette Boucher and Marie Ange Fournier.
