1951 – 2013

LEWISTON — Jeffrey Alan Hayes, 62, of Hartford, passed away at Central Maine Medical Center on Friday, the 13th of December, and is continuing his legacy behind the “Pearly Gates.”

He was born in Lewiston on March 11, 1951, the son of Richard E. and Priscilla C. (Warren) Hayes. He was a graduate of the Kingsley Prep Hall School in Westbrook, Conn.

In 1991, he became a paramedic, working for many years for Northeast Ambulance in the cities of Poland, Westbrook, Norway and Portland.

A strong advocate of the Second Amendment, Jeff loved his country and was a true “Patriot” in keeping our right to bear arms. A generous and caring man, he would give the shirt off his back to help anyone in need.

He is survived by his mother, Priscilla Hayes, of Auburn; his wife, Heather Hayes, of Auburn; his daughters, Amy Hayes and fiancé, Doug Valier, of Auburn, Jennifer Hayes and fiancé, Ernest Ford, of Auburn and Mikala Hayes of Orono; his son, Jeffrey C. Hayes, of Auburn; and his grandchildren, Steven Cornish and girlfriend, Kara Tancrel, of Auburn and Michael Cornish of Auburn. He also leaves a special friend, Larry Crowell of Auburn, who was like a brother to him.

He was predeceased by his father; his son, Richard C. “R.C.” Hayes; and his aunt, Ruth “Fooey” Warren.
