CARTHAGE — Voters approved a $196,438 municipal budget at the annual town meeting this week, Selectman Stephen Brown said Thursday.
Brown said voters approved the 39 articles in a little over an hour Monday.
“We had a lot of good participation this year,” he said.
Voters approved increasing the salary of the town clerk and tax collector by $300. The current salaries for the two positions are $1,750 and $2,750, respectively.
Voters also approved increasing the transfer station attendant’s hourly wage by 75 cents to $8.25.
Town Clerk and Tax Collector Linda Berry and town Treasurer Nancy Blodgett were re-elected to one-year terms, Brown said.
Brown was re-elected for a three-year term as Selectman.
Brown, Blodgett and Berry were unopposed in their elections.
