WISCASSET — An Albion man previously convicted of burglary is due back in court to face more serious charges — including terrorizing — after Wiscasset police say he struck another man with his car and told a woman and her daughter that he would blow up or burn down their apartment.

Justin L. George, 25, was indicted Wednesday by a Lincoln County grand jury for Class A elevated aggravated assault and Class C terrorizing.

On Aug. 26, George and another woman allegedly drove from Augusta to Wiscasset intending to confront the woman’s 25-year-old former boyfriend, according to court documents.

During the confrontation outside a Wiscasset apartment, George allegedly threatened a 50-year-old woman and her 15-year-old daughter, “stating that he would return and blow up or burn down the apartment and kill them,” an affidavit from Wiscasset Police Officer Donald Smith states.

After George was notified that the police had been called, he allegedly struck the 25-year-old man with his car, “with enough force to cause [the victim] to roll up onto the hood of the vehicle and onto the windshield,” and continued driving approximately 50 feet before the man fell off.

The alleged victim suffered a broken leg, broken arm and possible head injury.

Police located George’s Audi 30 minutes later and allegedly found extensive damage to the windshield.

George was on probation at the time for a May 2011 conviction in Kennebec County Superior Court for Class B robbery. He was sentenced to eight years, all but 17 months suspended, with three years probation.

George remained Friday in Two Bridges Regional Jail, held on $5,000 cash bail. He is next scheduled to appear in Lincoln County Superior Court on Jan. 2, 2014.
