LEWISTON — Phyllis M. Coffin, 92, formerly of Mechanic Falls, died Wednesday, Dec. 18, at Montello Manor.

She was born in Poland on June 14, 1921, the daughter of Herbert F. and Sadie Winslow Barker. She graduated from Buckfield High School in the Class of 1938. Phyllis married Lewis B. Coffin on Dec. 26, 1941; he passed away on Oct. 10, 1970. Phyllis was a homemaker and a Tupperware dealer. Later on in life, she took boarders into her home.

She was a member of the Pleasant Street Baptist Church in Mechanic Falls, and the American Legion Auxiliary Post 153 in Auburn and Post 150 in Mechanic Falls.

Phyllis is survived by her sons, Stanley H. Coffin and his wife, Marie, of Hebron and George L. Coffin of Mechanic Falls; three grandchildren, Rachael Coffin of Mechanic Falls, Tracy Herchenroder and her husband, Mark, of Deltona, Fla., and Dawn Baker and her husband, Jeff, of Elkton, Md.; a daughter-in-law, Brenda Coffin; five great-grandchildren, Angelina Joy Herchenroder, Luke Sherman Herchenroder, Joel Mark Herchenroder, Kyle Shawn Baker and Emma Marie Baker; her brother, Earl Barker, of Old Town; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by three brothers, Herbert Barker Jr. of Norway, Nathan Barker of Oxford and Arthur Barker of Litchfield.
