1923 – 2013
LEWISTON — Frances Krason, 90, a resident of Gagne Street in Lewiston, passed away peacefully at her home on Christmas Day, Wednesday, Dec. 25.
She was born in Lewiston on May 25, 1923, the daughter of Anthony and Tiofila (Bialy) Krason. She was a graduate of Lewiston High School and attended a local business school to complete her education. She was employed for many years at Concord General Insurance as an executive secretary, retiring in 1986. Following retirement, she was in charge of housekeeping at Ocean Point Inn, in Ocean Point, for several years.
Frances was a longtime parishioner of the former St. Patrick’s Church, where she sang in the choir under the direction of the Rev. T. Lee Burns. She also volunteered for St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store in Lewiston for many years.
She loved to ski and travel, and was a member of the former LASKI Ski Club in Lewiston, where she was able to satisfy those two special hobbies. Frances will be remembered for her love of life, love of her family and her independent spirit, as well as her love for holidays.
Survivors include her niece, Wanda C. Klemanski, of Lewiston; a nephew, Anthony E. Krason, of Ocean Point; grandnieces, Shannon L. Klemanski, Deanna D. and Mark Jolin; a nephew, Randy J. Klemanski; and Linda Carpenter; as well as great-grandnieces and nephews.
