JAY — The Police Department has received a $10,000 grant to reduce speed-related motor vehicle crashes, injuries and fatalities.
The grant from the Maine Bureau of Highway Safety will pay for 320 patrol hours in areas that have statistically shown a higher number of speed-related crashes and offenses.
The grant was written by Sgt. Troy Young Sr. and runs from January to September 2014.
