Knights are planning bean supper

LEWISTON — The Holy Cross Knights of Columbus will have a bean supper from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, in the Holy Cross Church Hall, 1080 Lisbon St. Cost is $7 a person, $4 age 5 to 12. Take-out is available. For more information, contact Dan Leclair at 754-2841.

Auburn VFW to hold spaghetti supper

AUBURN —  VFW Post 1603, 588 Minot Ave., will hold a spaghetti supper from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 3.  Cost will be $6 for adults; under age 10, $3.

The meal will include coffee and dessert. Proceeds will benefit community activities. For more information, call Carl at 966-1186.

AUBURN — Tibby Dupuis, finance officer and chef, is inviting the public to attend a spaghetti supper from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 8, at the William J. Rogers Post 153, American Legion, 71 South Main St. Cost is adults $5, children $3.

The proceeds will help support programs for youth, from scholarships to baseball.

Dempsey Center offering spa treatments

LEWISTON — The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope & Healing is offering free mini-spa treatments for cancer patients, survivors and caregivers from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 8, at the center, 29 Lowell St.

Kelley Green-Chartier and Belinda Samson will treat attendees to a warm foot soak and hand treatment. Seating is limited to four and registration is required.

Lecture at Round Table meeting

BRUNSWICK — Joshua L. Chamberlain Civil War Round Table will host a lecture at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, at Curtis Memorial Library, Morrell Room, 23 Pleasant St.

Speaker will be Mary Ellen Bell on “Sarah Sampson: A Life of Singular Dedication.” Lectures are free and open to the public.
