LEWISTON — The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope & Healing is offering free Tai Chi workshop for cancer patients, survivors and caregivers. “Tai Chi for Balance” will take place Thursdays, Jan. 9 through Feb. 13 from 4 to 5 p.m. at the Dempsey Center, 29 Lowell Street in Lewiston.
Tai Chi is a mind-body practice that combines gentle exercise, breathing practices and meditation to activate self-healing. Tai Chi instructor Toby Sifton will lead participants in slow, meditative movements that can be practiced by anyone of any age and ability. Tai Chi has been clinically proven to increase balance, strength, and flexibility. Registration is limited to 12.
