LEWISTON — Staff of the NorthEast Charter and Tour Co. presented the Greater Androscoggin Humane Society a donation of $778 recently. The donation was the result of a special holiday shopping trip to Boston on Nov. 23.

The idea for the trip came together as Auburn school bus drivers transitioned into NorthEast Charter. It was decided everyone from all NECT locations gather, get to know one another and spend a day in Boston.

It was originally planned that the employees would pay for the trip. Don Fournier discussed the idea with Scott Riccio and a decision was made that NECT would donate the bus and each person on the trip would pay $10 to cover the cost of fuel.

It was further decided that the money collected would be donated to the humane society. While on the trip, the group collected additional donations.
