LEWISTON — Central Maine Federal Credit Union recently hosted its annual Books for Kids reception for Androscoggin County public elementary school librarians.
This is the credit union’s 11th year of hosting the social, which serves a dual purpose of presenting the donations and allowing the school librarians to meet and network.
In 2002, Books for Kids was created as the credit union’s signature community project to donate books to public school libraries. Central Maine Credit Union appreciates the service provided to the children of the community by the elementary school librarians and the annual librarian social is a way to recognize them and thank them for their service.
Central Maine Credit Union has been active in the community since its inception in 1950. This program has been recognized annually since 2003, with the Dora Maxwell Award in recognition of outstanding achievement in a social responsibility program.
Central Maine Federal Credit Union, 1000 Lisbon St., Lewiston, and 836 Center St., Auburn, serves all of Androscoggin County.
