NORWAY — The Norway Farmers Market begins again Saturday, Jan. 4, offering locally grown produce and homemade and handcrafted goods to the local area throughout the winter.
The market is at the First Universalist Church on Main Street and is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
“We intend to liven up the winter with classes and demonstrations on cooking,” Jeanette Baldridge said. “The first class will be on cooking with beans. Watch for the announcement of the date. It will be sometime in January.”
Norway Farmers Market has served the Oxford Hills area for almost 20 years. Baldridge said the market’s goal is to reach people who can’t always afford the cost of quality food by offering market dollars to Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program participants.
