1934 – 2014

AUBURN — Jane Gloria Ouellette, 79, of Lewiston, died Thursday, Jan. 2, after a brief illness.

She was the daughter of the late Armand Hamel, Julie Hamel Bickford and stepfather Winston Bickford, to whom she was very close. She married Grover A. Ouellette on Feb. 14, 1953 in a double-ring ceremony, with her twin sister Janet and her husband, Tony Camardese. She attended Lewiston High School, was a fancy stitcher and worked for various shoe manufacturing companies. An avid bowler, she won many trophies, and she also served on the Lewiston Planning Board. Her favorite hobbies were oil and watercolor painting, crocheting afghans for her grandchildren, shopping, playing cribbage with her husband and going out to eat.

Jane and her husband were members of the United Commercial Travelers of America, the Sabattus American Legion and the Sabattus Seniors Club.

She is survived by her husband, Grover Ouellette; her twin sister, Janet and brother-in-law, Tony Camardese, of Greene; her sister, Doris Hamel of Lewiston. She also leaves her daughter, Jean Langer and grandchildren, Palidon and Ayla Langer, all living in Wisconsin; her daughter, Gayle Rendina and her husband, Jerry, and grandchildren, Ryan and Molly Rendina, all living in Florida; her son, Michel Ouellette from Silver Spring, Md.; grandson, Christopher Ouellette from Sterling, Va.; grandaughter, Jessica (Ouellette) Hamann, her husband, Shane, and great-grandaughter, Addison Hamann, living in Clinton, Miss.
