RUMFORD — In the spirit of helping those in need during the season of giving, the kindergarten class at Holy Savior School collected toys and other goods as part of Operation Christmas Child, a program that has delivered gifts to more than 100 million boys and girls in more than 130 countries since 1993.
“We put many things in the box including clothes, stuffed animals, a jump rope, a ball, coloring books, markers, a paper pad and a flashlight with extra batteries,” said Barbara Pelletier, principal of Holy Savior School. “We filled the box to the brim!”
Recently, the students were informed that their donations were sent to children in Ecuador.
Operation Christmas Child is organized by Samaritan’s Purse, which works with local churches and ministry partners to share the good news of Jesus Christ. The organization seeks to meet the spiritual and physical needs of people suffering from war, poverty, disaster, diseases and famine with the purpose of global missionary work attendant on humanitarian aid.
