Rumford and Mexico firetrucks line Plymouth Avenue in Rumford on Friday while firefighters clear the three-story duplex at left of carbon monoxide. A neighbor reported “an odd smell” to 911 dispatchers in Paris, firefighter Mike Arsenault said. Two accidents, one on South Rumford Road, the other at Stafford Avenue and Hancock Street, reduced Rumford’s manpower, so Mexico firefighters were asked to help. Arsenault said firefighters opened windows and doors in the duplex to rid it of “slight levels of carbon monoxide.” None of the tenants were injured.
