LIVERMORE — A Turner man escaped injury Saturday when the trash truck he was driving slid off icy Route 4, partially going down an embankment of the Androscoggin River.

Dwayne Brough, 33, was heading north when he lost control of the truck and it crossed the road near the intersection of Goding Road, just before the bridge leading to Livermore Falls, Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Capt. Ray Lafrance said Monday.

Sgt. James Jacques was assisted at accident reported at 8:13 a.m. by Livermore Falls police and Livermore firefighters at the scene, he said.

The truck is owned by Almighty Waste of Auburn.
