To the Editor:
To the citizens of Rumford and surrounding towns:
Do you love dogs? Are you interested in saving a life? Would you consider becoming a foster home to a homeless dog?
If you answered yes to the above questions, then we need your help!
Heart of the Mountains is a non-profit animal shelter that is currently operating as a foster dog program while we develop our permanent shelter in Bethel. In order to save homeless dogs while we are creating our shelter we need volunteers like you!
A foster home provides a safe, caring, loving environment for a dog who is homeless, lost, or surrendered, while that dog waits to be adopted. The length of time to foster a dog varies case by case. We ask you to provide a clean, “dog proof” home and we ask that when outside, all dogs must be supervised and in a fenced in yard or on leash.
If you are interested in becoming a foster, please visit our website at www.heartofthemountains.org and print out our foster application form. Please mail completed forms to:
Heart of the Mountains, P.O. Box 505 Bethel, ME 04217; or email: Contact@heartofthemountains.org for more information.
