MEXICO – A Peru man was charged with speeding, after leading police on a chase down Roxbury Road into Byron on Saturday morning.
Police Chief Roy Hodsdon said Shawn Arsenault, 25, is charged with attempting to elude an officer, criminal speeding and driving to endanger.
Hodsdon said Arsenault was driving down Roxbury Road when a Mexico police officer saw him speeding at least 30 miles over the speed limit and attempted to pull him over. Arsenault continued on into Byron, the chief said.
“He ended up pulling over on his own,” Hodsdon said. “Nobody was injured during the chase.”
Arsenault was arrested and transported to Oxford County Jail in Paris, where he was given a date of March 4 to appear in Oxford County Superior Court.
