MECHANIC FALLS — The Boghooters Snowmobile Club of Mechanic Falls will hold their fifth annual Chili & Chowda Cook-off from 5 to 7 p.. Saturday, Feb. 8.
The cook-off has brought many local celebrity chefs like long-time winner Daddy-O’s Restaurant in Oxford and Shannon Bissonette from Better Than Average Cafe in Mechanic Falls.
This family-friendly event is held at the Elm Street School and is only $6 to attend. Kids under 6 years old are free.
Snowmobilers are encouraged to ride their sleds to the event, snow permitting.
Anyone can enter. There is no fee to enter your favorite chili or chowder recipe. All you need to do is register then bring your chili and/or chowder in a large crock pot or steam cooker to the event.
Every paying attendee will be able to vote for their favorite chef.
Registration forms can be picked up at the Mechanic Falls NAPA Store, by calling Pete Ford at 576-7778, or by making a request at the Bog Hooters Facebook page or via email at [email protected] to have registration and rules emailed.
