1951 – 2014
LEWISTON — Claude M. Ouellette, 62, of Auburn, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 14, at Central Maine Medical Center, with his family by his side.
He was born in Lewiston on Nov. 18, 1951, a son of Mariette (Dallaire) Ouellette and the late Roger H. Ouellette. He attended Lewiston High School, before enlisting in the U.S. Army and serving his nation in the Vietnam War.
He was a member of the AARP, who loved fishing, riding his motorcycle and dismantling everything and making artistic creations of his own. He was an avid horticulturist and bird lover, who was very neighborly, social, funny and charismatic. The time spent with his family was very precious to him and he was a great lover of celebrating life, with family and food.
Claude is survived by his mother, Mariette Ouellette, of Gray; three children, Michelle Battaglia Ouellette of California, Christine Mutchler Ouellette of California and Adrien Ouellette and his wife of Connecticut; three grandchildren, Taylor Battaglia Ouellette, Gabriel Battaglia Ouellette and Lauren Mutchler; a brother, Marc Ouellette of Gray; a sister, Sonia Turgeon and husband, Mark, of Gray; a niece, Katie Belisle; a nephew, David Belisle; an aunt, Pauline Turgeon, of Florida; and many cousins and friends.
He was predeceased by his father, Roger Ouellette; sister, Diane Belisle; and nephew, Tony Belisle.
