1961 – 2014

PETERSBURG, Va. — Jean-Louis “Frog” Chilvers died unexpectedly on Wednesday, Jan. 15, at his home.

He was born on March 22, 1961, in Lac-Megantic, Quebec, a son of the late Eddy Chilvers and Madeleine (Roy) Chilvers. Jean-Louis grew up in Rangeley and attended Rangeley schools. He moved to Virginia in 1983 for work.

He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. His newest love was his 1-year-old granddaughter, Alayna.

Jean-Louis had an unfortunate accident in 1987, which left him a paraplegic. Jean remained active for many years, despite his misfortune.

He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Terri (Westroy) Chilvers, of Petersburg, Va; son, TJ (Thomas Justin) Chilvers; granddaughter, Alayna; mother, Madeleine Chilvers, of Rangeley; brother, Maurice Chilvers of Norfolk, Va., and his companion, Kate; brother, Lawrence Chilvers of Farmington; brother, Terry of Rangeley; and his sister, Kathy Cyr, her husband and their children, Jacob and Rebecca, of Hampden. He also leaves behind many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was predeceased by his father, Eddy Chilvers, of Rangeley, in 2002; uncle, George Chilvers of Lac-Megantic, Quebec; and another uncle, Harry Chilvers, also of Lac-Megantic.
