1949 – 2014

LEWISTON — Marjorie H. Libby, of Fortin Way in Lewiston, died Thursday, Jan. 16, at Central Maine Medical Center, with her loving family at her side after a long illness.

She was born in Hackensack, N.J., on July 30, 1949, a daughter of the late William and Theodora (Lenox) White. She was educated in New Jersey and graduated from Northern Valley Regional High School in Old Tappan, N.J.

Marjorie married the love of her life, Dan Libby, on April 24, 1971, and together they raised three sons. Marjorie was a great caregiver to her three sons and whomever else needed her help. She was a caring people person, who loved and lived life to its fullest. She loved being around family and her many friends. Marjorie enjoyed the ocean and everything to do with the it … lighthouses, sea shells and the sand between her toes. She also enjoyed volunteering and helping out in any way she could.

She leaves her husband of 42 years, Dan Libby, of Lewiston; her three sons, Jason Libby of Leeds, Joshua Libby of California and Kyle Libby of North Carolina; her two grandsons, Ben and Zac; a sister, Dorothy White of Missouri; two brothers, William White of Pennsylvania and Robert White and his wife, Wanda, of Florida; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to send a very special thank you to the hospital staff, who made her last month as much like home as possible.
