Today the age of voting is 18 because that is the age a young person becomes an “adult.” It is not complicated. But when a person turns 18, one of the last things most people that age really care about is voting. And if they do vote, the candidates they probably vote for are people their friends talk about or the guy all over television.
Most younger people get taught in school not who to vote for, but that voting is a good thing that they should do because it makes their voice count.
People talk about what they hate, but then decide not to vote. So why should they be whining?
I am not saying that once you vote everything will be in your favor, but at least you had a word instead of pouting about something you could have tried to change but did not.
That’s why the voting age needs to be lowered. That way it becomes a habit for kids and it will become more valuable to us and the next generation. The earlier the better.
If we teach our kids, our kids will teach theirs and it will become a constant thing and won’t be a problem. It will become a normal thing for everyone and then everyone will have a voice.
The voting age should be lowered to about 12 or 13.
