RUMFORD — A group of volunteers from the Greater Rumford Community Center have been working hard to organize fundraisers for the popular activity center located on Congress Street.
The intense cold spell this winter has been tough on heating bill and funds are badly needed.
The next event is in conjunction with Scot and Cindy Grassette of 49 Franklin Reception Hall with a theme dance. After several ideas, the group decided that a Red Neck Party Camo Party would be a fun theme for an adult dance. Grassette is volunteering his skills as a disc jockey and will provide favorite Country, Classic Rock and Roll and take requests of any song that will help you whoop it up. Wear your favorite camo gear, 49 Franklin will provide a Friday Night Live III DVD for the People’s Choice “Red Neck of the Night”
The dance is Saturday, February 1, and is a 21+ event, doors open at 7 p.m. to start the Chinese auction and sell 50/50 tickets, dance is 8 p.m. to midnight. Special advance tickets are $10 and are available at www.49franklin.com Trendsetters and at the GRCC desk. Night of the dance, at the door they will be $12.
If you would like to donate an item for the Chinese auction you can drop off at the GRCC or contact Andrea York 357-5606. Proceeds go towards the Greater Rumford Community Center.
