MEXICO — High school counselors and the Financial Authority of Maine will hold a Financial Aid night at Region 9 at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22. This event will offer advice and help college bound students complete the Free Application for Student Aid.

The FAFSA is the form used by colleges to determine financial aid. It must be completed to be eligible for aid and many scholarships also require the form. The earlier in the year the form is completed, the more potential for larger sums of aid.

Attendees should bring social security numbers for the enrolling student and parents, if under 23, and tax forms (last year’s, for those who have not filed yet). All information is kept in confidence.
