LEWISTON — It looks like there will be a full house for the Androscoggin County Chamber of Commerce’s 126th annual meeting and awards banquet Thursday night.

Chip Morrison, chamber president, said it’s essentially a sell-out at the Ramada Lewiston Hotel and Conference Center at 490 Pleasant St.

The banquet will honor 16 individuals and organizations. He said there were more than 50 nominations for the prestigious awards.

Patti Gagne, chairwoman of the chamber’s board of directors, said, “It’s all about the award winners.”

A number of specially-produced videos featuring honorees will be shown.

Businesses that will be recognized include Argo Marketing and Rainbow Bicycle, two additions to Lewiston’s Lisbon Street. They will receive Business Leadership Awards.

The annual Ray Geiger Award will go to Art Boulay and Community Service Leadership Awards will go to the YWCA in Lewiston and Kathy Durgin-Leighton, executive director.

A Public Service Leadership Award will go to Craig Saddlemire. The Education Business Partnership Award will go to Community Credit Union.

Hurricane’s Café and Deli will receive the Greene Business Award; Positive Change Lisbon will receive the Lisbon Business Award; and the Turner Business Award will go to Turner Publishing and Jodi Cornelio.

President’s Awards will be presented to John Story and L-A Harley-Davidson, and to Rinck Advertising.

The Cool Chamber Award will go to Pettengill Academy and the chamber’s New Member Award will go to Morningstar Stone and Tile.

For the second time, Young Professionals of the Lewiston-Auburn Area will present its awards. They will go to Sandra Jones and Shanna Rogers.

Gagne will review the past year’s highlights of the chamber, which added 127 new members in 2013.
