1929 – 2014

NORWAY — Beverly J. Fox, 84, of Oxford, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 21, at Norway Rehabilitation and Living Center.

She was born in North Conway, N.H., on Nov. 19, 1929, the daughter of Edgar F. and Beatrice E. Bemis Grover. She graduated from Fryeburg Academy in 1948. Beverly held a variety of jobs at numerous local businesses, including Goodwin’s and New England Furniture. She had been director of housekeeping at Andrews Nursing Home, now known as Market Square Health Care Center.

Beverly traveled extensively across the United States, before settling in Massachusetts for many years. She moved back to Maine 12 years ago. She was a member of the First Congregational Church in South Paris, where she belonged to the Thalian’s Club.

She did a lot of cooking and volunteered her time in the church kitchen. She was a doll collector, and enjoyed feeding the birds and spending time with her cat, Cleo, and her dog, Buddy.

Beverly is survived by her two sons, Bruce Fox and his wife, Nancy, of Norway and Brent Fox and his wife, Mel, of Greene; a daughter, Jeanene Medeiros and her husband, Tom, of Fall River, Mass.; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; her brother, Bill Grover and Carol McGarigle of Otisfield; two sisters, Janice Thurston and her husband, Blynn, of Norway and Lyn Horton of North Conway, N.H.; her aunt, Alice and uncle, Arthur Best, of Portland; and many nieces and nephews whom she loved very much.

She was predeceased by her parents; a brother, Edgar F. Grover Jr.; and many aunts and uncles.
