LEWISTON — The Lewiston Senior Citizens held their election of officers on Dec. 2 at their monthly meeting.

After the meeting, members were entertained by Kathy Haley who sang and led the members in Christmas carols.

The annual Christmas party took place at CJ Hall on Dec. 6.

Members enjoyed food and entertainment by Present Company. There was also dancing and a visit from Mr. and Mrs. Claus.

During late November and most of December, members dropped off toys, hats, mittens and food to be given to Safe Voices. The items were dropped off on Dec. 24. They included toys of all sorts, 38 hats, 49 pairs of mittens and gloves, scarves, slippers and blankets along with food items.

On Jan. 13, a chicken pot pie lunch from Kentucky Fried Chicken was held.

Newly elected officers were sworn in.

Birthdays celebrated included Anna Faucher who turned 94 on Jan. 6.

The next meeting will be held Monday, Feb. 3, with a speaker on legal services for the elderly.

The Valentine King and Queen will be crowned and cupcakes will be decorated.

The seniors will host a magic show on March 15 at the Lewiston Memorial Armory.

Sept. 30-Oct. 5: Canadian Island trip in the Charlevoix Region of Quebec, five nights, 11 meals, tour of Quebec and the Island of Coudres, boat ride on the Bay of St. Catherine, St. Anne De Beaupre Shrine and the Gilles Copper Museum, $705, deadline July 25.
