PORTLAND — The Maine Jewish Film Festival and the Portland Museum of Art have announced a partnership for the 2014 Festival, taking place March 22-29.

Throughout the festival week, MJFF will present several key screenings and events at the Portland Museum of Art, in addition to the core schedule at the Nickelodeon Cinema and other venues around the state.

MJFF Executive Director Louise Rosen said, “We are thrilled to be able to hold a full day of events at the PMA on Sunday, March 23, with our Women Filmmakers Forum and two film screenings. In addition, the PMA will host matinee screenings during the week and our Closing Night party and film on Saturday, March 29. It’s an honor to be able to work with one of Maine’s premiere cultural institutions. Our audiences will enjoy their beautiful facilities to their full effect.”

The Women Filmmakers Forum brings together women whose films are being presented during the festival to talk about the film industry and share their insights and expertise. Special outreach is made to Maine’s filmmaking community, students and teachers as well as the public. One of the matinee screenings at the PMA will be MJFF’s Free Senior Program, an event that typically draws a large audience from throughout Southern Maine.

The Maine Jewish Film Festival is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide a forum for the presentation of films to enrich, educate and entertain a diverse community about the global Jewish experience. This year’s screenings will be taking place in Portland, Waterville, Brunswick, Rockland and Bangor. For more information, visit mjff.org.
