LIVERMORE FALLS — The Tri-Town Ministerial Association “Good Neighbor” Fuel fund received a $5,000 grant from Maine Community Foundation recently.
The grant is from the Harold Dudley Charitable Fund of the Maine Community Foundation. Mr. Dudley was once a resident of Livermore Falls.
To date, the fuel fund has allocated $25,000 to Western Maine Community Action in Wilton for distribution of emergency fuel assistance.
The greater portion of the funds is expended at the beginning of the fuel season before state and federal funds are available. Goals include having an adequate fund balance at the beginning of the next fuel season when the need is the greatest.
The cold winter began early this year and continues, and many tri-town residents are in desperate need.
Checks may be made out to TTMA Fuel Fund, P.O. Box 183, Livermore Falls, ME. Call Louise Chabot at 897-3851 for further information.
