JAY — The Tri-Town Seniors met after Christmas recess on Jan. 13 at St. Rose Parish Hall with 20 members present and Fernande Doiron presiding.

After the opening ceremonies, George Doiron led the group in signing “Happy Birthday” to six members who celebrate birthdays this month. He then sang “You Are My Sunshine.”

Doiron thanked the group for her Christmas gift. She said told present they must remember those members who are unable to attend the meetings.

New business brought up included the Valentine meal. It was voted to have it at noon Monday, Feb. 10, when pizzas, chips, drinks and dessert will be served. Doiron will order the pizzas.

During Lent the hall is used by the parish so it was voted that the meetings will be held at 1:30 p.m. instead of 1.

The 50/50 was won by Georgia Hersey. Door prizes donated by members were won by Georgia Hersey, Doris Tripp, Marilyn DeSoto, Gail Laverdiere, Pat Laverdiere, Carole Redman and Francis Therrien.

A birthday cake made by Nancy Couture, ice cream and other refreshments brought by Donna Cook, Carole Redman, Marilyn DeSoto and Gloria Bickford were served following the meeting. Bingo and cards games were played
