FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla. — Sandra Irene Evans, 66, of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., died Tuesday, Jan. 28, at the Fort Walton Beach Rehabilitation Center.
She was born in Lewiston on Dec. 26, 1947, the daughter of Edward T. Evans Sr., and Hazel J. Morris Evans. She enjoyed raising money for animal shelters.
Sandy brought sunshine into every room and happiness to all who met her, and shared an unconditional love that was uncommon. She faced many life struggles — such as cerebral palsy (from birth) and multiple sclerosis in adulthood — with bravery, selflessness and without complaints.
She is survived by father, Edward Evans Sr., of Fort Myers, Fla.; a sister, Shannon McEwen, of Fort Myers, Fla.; two brothers, Bruce Evans of Currituck, N.C., and Edward Tom Evans of Celebration, Fla.; brother-in-law, Ken McEwen; sister-in-law, Linda Evans; three nieces, Meika Evans Qua of Waterville, Kirsten Evans Simmons of Boston, Mass., and Courtney Evans of Portland.
She was predeceased by Robert L. Dostie.
