Burmeister lives in Paris and is an active member of the Western Maine Art Group. She studied watercolor with the Ann Arbor Art Association and served as a docent at the University of Michigan Museum of Art for 20 years. More recently she has studied oil painting.

Burmeister described her approach, “I have always loved old houses, so I suppose it’s not surprising that they are my favorite subject to paint. Old buildings are interesting visually and I enjoy thinking about the people who lived in them. Norway, Paris, and western Maine have so many wonderful examples of old builidings.”

Join Western Maine Art Group at the Friday opening to view the collection of original arts, mosaics, landscapes, figurative paintings, still life paintings, jewelry, and more.

The gallery is open from Tuesday through Saturday, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. For more information, visit www.westernmaineartgroup.org. The gallery is free and open to the public.
