1912 – 2014
AUBURN — Dorothy C. Donovan, 101, of Schooner Estates in Auburn, died Wednesday, Feb. 5, at the Hospice House.
She was born in Cambridge, Mass., on Aug. 4, 1912. When Dot was 22, she moved from Quincy, Mass., to Lewiston, to marry Leonard Donovan. She devoted herself to volunteering in the Lewiston school system. She also volunteered at St. Martin de Porres Residence.
Dot was a longtime member of the St. Joseph’s Queen’s Guild Sodality and St. Philip Catholic Church in Auburn. She was an avid walker and attributed her longevity to her walking.
Dot is survived by her sister, Marge Marr; nieces and nephews; and many friends.
She was predeceased by her husband, Leonard Donovan; and eight siblings.
