CARRABASSETT VALLEY — A Kingfield woman received minor injuries Sunday night after her vehicle went off Route 27 and hit trees.

Ashley Wiencek, 25, was driving a 2007 Nissan Frontier south at approximately 11:30 p.m. when she failed to negotiate a curve near the Outdoor Center and her car went off the road, police Chief Mark Lopez said.

It was snowing at the time and her speed may have been a factor, he said. Wiencek was alone and returning home from work, he said. No other vehicles were involved.

Wiencek was checked at the scene by NorthStar Ambulance personnel but was not transported to a hospital, he said.

Wiencek was wearing a seat belt, investigating officer Thomas Cummings of Carrabassett Valley Police Department told Lopez.

The vehicle received major damage and was towed from the scene.
