BINGHAM (AP) — Maine officials will hear from the public this week on a proposal to build a 62-turbine wind farm in Somerset and Piscataquis Counties.
The Maine Department of Environmental Protection is holding the second public meeting on the proposal by Blue Sky West, LLC and Blue Sky West II, LLC to develop the 206-megawatt project in Bingham, Mayfield Township and Kingsbury Plantation.
The meeting will be held Wednesday at Quimby School in Bingham. Among those that are expected to attend include environmental department Commissioner Patricia Aho.
The department said it’s gathering public feedback on its draft analysis of the project and will make a final decision on the project sometime this spring.
