Maine Micro Cinema will present the documentary

at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, at She Doesn’t Like Guthries, 115 Middle St. in Lewiston. The movie features rare film footage of the first surfers in Maine. Director Brian Goding will be present to answer questions following the screening. Despite the harsh conditions on Maine’s coast, there exist a few dedicated surfers who pursue the perfect wave year-round, donning full-body wetsuits to catch winter waves. In his short documentary, Goding offers Maine’s original surfers a chance to recall the early days of surfing in Maine, complimented by the excellent Super 8 film footage captured by the surfers themselves.
