LEWISTON — A Mass of Christian Burial honoring the life of Rita T. Mathieu was celebrated by the Rev. Marc Caron on Tuesday morning, Feb. 11, at Holy Family Church of the Prince of Peace Parish. During the Mass, Rita’s grandson, Steven Mathieu, proclaimed the New Testament reading. The Offertory gifts were brought to the altar by Rita’s granddaughters, Darci Hamann, Kiley Ames and Jessica Mathieu. Words of Remembrance were shared by Rita’s daughter, Suzanne Turgeon. Family friends, Shawn and Angela Robitaille sang “Ava Maria,” “Amazing Grace” and concluding with “You Never Walk Alone” at Mass. The Ladies of St.Ann were also in attendance. The pallbearers were Tyler and Ryan Turgeon, Steven and James Mathieu, as well as Greg Hamann and Ken Mitton. All in attendance were then invited to a reception of fellowship at Marco’s Restaurant in Lewiston. Graveside committal prayers will be held later in the Spring at St. Ann’e Cemetery in Lisbon, Arrangements by Pinette & Lynch Funeral Home, Lewiston.
