PERU — A Budget Committee meeting scheduled for Thursday evening at the Town Office has been canceled due to the expected snowstorm, Chairman Jim Pulsifer said.
“Right now, we don’t have a definite date, but it should be rescheduled to sometime next week,” he said. Selectmen would likely meet early Thursday morning to set a date, he said.
The committee is expected to hold several meetings to develop a 2014-15 budget proposal for the town.
Pulsifer said Norman DeRoche was reappointed to the Budget Committee at Monday’s selectmen meeting.
“There are 15 spots for that committee, but right now we have 10,” Pulsifer said. “Since we go by state statutes, and don’t have our own charter, 10 people will be fine for the budget process.”
