I am the owner of Skye Theatre, located in Carthage.

Skye Theatre is the leading Celtic theater in New England and brings major artists to the area. Our center has greatly benefited from the support of Spruce Mountain Wind.

Patriot Renewables, the company that owns and operates Spruce Mountain Wind in Woodstock, has been an important member of our community. Patriot has taken a leading role with Skye Theatre’s Emerging Artist Series, which enables local artists to gain exposure and provides them with an invaluable experience while performing on stage with professional artists.

Patriot’s patronage has helped our small theatre to survive in this economy. It funds eight of the 45 shows we hold each year. Without those resources, the theater would not be able to offer those opportunities to the community.

Patriot Renewables has not only embraced the host town of Woodstock,  it also sponsors the Crossroads Celtic Festival, held during the fall, that features multiple shows in five days. Bringing local and international artists together allows our youth to perform with seasoned professionals and our communities to enjoy artists from all over the world.

From the beginning, Patriot has been a generous advocate of fine arts. That is just one of the many examples of support, and I believe that having Spruce Mountain Wind as a neighbor is a win-win for our region and the state.

It has been a privilege to work with them to provide opportunities that would otherwise be unavailable to Western Maine.
