1995 – 2014
LIVERMORE — Brandon Leroy Hodges, 18, a resident of Livermore, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, Feb. 19, at his home.
He was born in Farmington on Feb. 20, 1995, the son of Roland Hodges and Debra (Grondin) Desrosiers. Brandon attended school in Livermore Falls and at Foster Tech in Farmington for automotive. He graduated from Spruce Mountain High School in 2013, and was currently a freshman at the University of Southern Maine.
He was very active in sports, starting in Area Youth Sports baseball, basketball and football, and later participating in high school baseball, football and cross-country skiing. Brandon served as captain of both the baseball and football teams during his high school years, and his senior year received the Coaches’ Award. Brandon was also chosen for All-State in baseball.
Not only did Brandon participate in sports, but he was also a member of the Spruce Mountain Marching Band. Following his graduation, Brandon completed the youth training internship program for Reed and Reed Inc., in Woolwich during the summer of 2013. Reed and Reed was so impressed with his work ethic, they offered him a position with their company.
He enjoyed being with his friends, bowling, recreational golf, ice fishing and anything that involved a challenge. He was an avid fan of the Patriots and Red Sox.
He is survived by his mother, Debbie Desrosiers and her husband, Larry; his father, Roland Hodges; and brother, Bradley Hodges, all of Livermore; maternal grandparents, Gus and Brenda Grondin of Jay; maternal great-grandmother, Gloria Pepin and companion, Edward Bent, of Wilton; paternal grandmother, Rosalies Hodges, of Jay; aunts and uncles, Cindy Deschenes and fiancé, Scott Aldrich, of Bridgton, Sylvia and Steve Johnson of Richmond, Barbara Layden of Farmingdale and Brian Hodges and husband, Geoff Gross, of West Gardiner; and cousins, Christian Deschenes, Russell Johnson and his wife, Allegra, Kieran “Brandye” Dawnshadow and husband, Chris, and Rainger Layden.
